Starting February 4, 2025, new tariffs have been implemented by the U.S. government on products originating from China or Hong Kong, following an Executive Order under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA).

These changes may impact shipments from Jas Fashion if any of the materials or products we import are sourced from these regions.

Duty-Free Entry for Australian Goods Under US$800

Thanks to the U.S.-Australia Free Trade Agreement (AUSFTA), products from Australia with a total order value under $800 are generally exempt from duties. This includes the cost of the products and shipping. However, if certain conditions apply (such as restricted items), duties may still apply.

What This Means for You:

• No More Duty-Free Exemption for China and Hong Kong: Shipments originating from China or Hong Kong are no longer eligible for the US$800 De Minimis exemption, meaning they will now be subject to U.S. import duties and customs processing, regardless of value.
• Potential Tariffs on Certain Jas Fashion Products: While most Jas Fashion products are made in Australia, some fabrics or materials may come from China. In these cases, U.S. Customs may assess tariffs, even if the shipment is sent from Sydney.
• Possible Customs Delays: Affected shipments may face longer customs clearance times due to the removal of the duty-free exemption for low-value items.
• Customer Responsibility: U.S. customers are responsible for any applicable tariffs, duties, and potential delays during customs processing.
