Melbourne Lockdown Impact on Service
Australia Post > 17 July 2020
The following information is the latest we received from Australia Post.
*********************
At Australia Post, we are working to keep you updated about the COVID-19 impacts on our international service. We continue to work with our airline and postal partners to resume delivery to lanes that are currently suspended due to border closures, or due to severe operational impacts in the destination country. Saudi Arabia, Norway, Poland and UAE are all resuming Standard and Express services from 17 July. We’re trying to minimise the impact of disrupted services to you and your customers during this time. However, as you know, the challenges presented by the pandemic has resulted in a reduced capacity in our network of international flights.
International Service Update
We have updated our Estimated Delivery Times based on delivery performance over the past four weeks. These timeframes are estimates only and are subject to change, we recommend you check our website regularly to read the most up to date Estimated Delivery Times.
Melbourne lockdown impact on service
The announcement by the Victorian Government now enforcing stage 3 restrictions on metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire reduces the number of international flights arriving into Melbourne. We are continuing to assess the potential impact on international services daily. At this point we expect minimal impacts on outbound services, and slight delays for inbound services to Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania, though we continue to monitor the situation.
As always, we will continue to regularly update all the latest international service information and delivery estimates on our website.
